Advice

May 2002

Dear Dale: Easter Sunday my boyfriend walked out on me in the middle of a big family dinner (we even had guests from out of town), saying, "I can't do this anymore." What this comes down to is that he had been having an affair with a "friend" of ours, and left me for the [friend]. I had felt insecure, and suspected my partner's infidelity even thought he claims this to have been his first affair. I guess, because I wasn't surprised by it, his leaving doesn't hurt as badly as I thought it would. I want to learn how to attract the right partner, Dale. Any clues on how to get started? I want my next partner to be as good and faithful as I am. Last Supper in San Carlos via email

Dear Last Supper: The solution to your problem requires belief, action, and repetition.

Belief is the power that fuels all good and worthy missions. As you know it to be true in your heart, consciously recite your mission to attract a loving, stable, monogamous, lifetime partner. Write down your mission and tape it inside your medicine cabinet, and affirm your aim every morning when brushing your teeth or shaving. Keep a copy of your mission statement (which also includes other life aspects such as health, happiness, wealth, etc.) in the top drawer of your nightstand, and read it every night as sleep falls. Soon you will instantaneously, naturally recall the powerful missions that you have detailed in writing and committed to memory.

Once confident that your missions speak to your heart, and your intuition - the subconscious -- is receiving positive messages from the conscious, it is time to act. First, you must begin using and evaluating venues. Venues are people and places you employ to meet potential husbands. Matchmakers, church and friends are a few examples of venues. How does your intuition "feel" about each of these venues when you try them? Is it a positive or negative feeling? Take good care to evaluate each. Use only those venues that you feel consistently positive about.

It is the rhythm most often heard which the subconscious absorbs and the individual radiates. Repetition key, fill your mind with only positive thoughts of your missions, leaving no room for negative thoughts to enter. Whenever self-doubt arises, quickly tell yourself, "Everything will be fine." Belief. Action. Repetition. Belief. Action. Repetition.
